10 tips for selecting the right bra for you…

It doesn’t matter if you are Chesty La Rue, Busty St Claire, or belong to the itty bitty titty commitee…every woman wants a well-fitting bra.

Did you know that approximately 85% of women wear the wrong sized bra?

Women come in every shape and size, as do bras, and it pays to do a little investigation before purchasing the one you think fits you.

I have a drawer full of functional bras. A little bit lacy, but full of support in the exciting colours of black and beige. They are completely practical…ie. they’re a bit boring, but they do the job. I recently bought a gorgeous dress that has spaghetti straps, and you know what that means…I need a strapless bra! Needless to say, a strapless bra does not form part of my lingerie collection (if that’s what you can call my drawer full of over-the-shoulder boulder holders and nanna knickers).

Trying to find a plus sized strapless bra, that fits well, is proving to be very difficult. Each time I’ve tried one on, I can’t help but sing “jelly on a plate, jelly on a plate, wibble wobble, wibble wobble, jelly on a plate”. I swear, my girls look they’re sitting up on a platter. I was so excited that City Chic have a lingerie line because its all so super pretty, but unfortunately their bras don’t fit me. Today at David Jones, I was starting to break out into a serious sweat. Who knew it was such hard work. I’ve tried on everything from a 16E to a 22DD, and none of them fit. Talk about confusing. The sales assistant was really helpful, but I must say, I laughed when she suggested I needed one bigger than an E cup. Lola Ferrari, eat your heart out!

Purchasing a bra online is not an option; that is unless you know the brand and model/style of the bra you’re desiring. You really need to try them on. You can’t always assume that the size you’ve always been, will be the one that fits you properly. Next step…I’m heading to a specialty store. I have a four-week deadline to find the perfect strapless bra…wish me luck.

Here’s a few tips for choosing the right size for you.

  1. Lift and place your breasts into the cups, to ensure a correct fit.
  2. Choose a bra that fits you on the loosest hook. As your bra ages through wash and wear, you will be able to tighten it to retain its firmness and lift.
  3. The mid-point of your breast should be positioned halfway between your shoulder and your elbow. Raising your bust-line to this position will actually help you to look slimmer and give you back your waist.
  4. The bra band should be level from front to back. If your band rises at the back, then the front hangs lower, creating a saggy bust. Not a good look. Usually this is an indicator that the band size is too big.
  5. Go up a cup size if your breasts are spilling/bulging over the top (also known as the dreaded “four boobs” syndrome. lol). You may need to go up 2-3 cup sizes…try larger cup sizes to see what fits you best.
  6. Go down a cup size if the cup fabric is puckering.
  7. Go down a band size if your straps are falling off your shoulders.  Adjust the shoulder straps so as they are not too loose or too tight. As the bra stretches you can tighten the straps.
  8. Choose a larger cup size if the underwire pokes out from your body. The wires should sit flat against your skin in the middle of your chest and should completely encompass your breast tissue.
  9. If you have one breast larger than the other (which is quite common), always select a bra to fit the larger side. A stretch lace bra will help make the size difference less noticeable.
  10. Your breasts will have changed shape and size after pregnancy/breast-feeding. Don’t assume that the bras you wore before you were pregnant, will fit again after baby.

Every bra is different. You need to try them all on. You won’t be the same size in every bra you select.

If you’re still confused, most lingerie shops will be able to fit you properly. Don’t be embarrassed. The sales assistant will most likely come into the change room with you, measure you, and “woman-handle” your merchandise. They want to make sure you are comfortable with your purchase. Sit down, move around, have a stretch and see how it feels. You wouldn’t buy shoes without trying them on and going for a walk around; bras are no different.

Good luck keeping the girls in check, and have fun shopping for your next bra! Hopefully my search for the perfect strapless bra will be successful soon.

Cheers, Lis.

ps. personally, my favourite part of the day is when I strip my bra off. How about you?

Shopping in the BIG city…

Yes, its been a long time since I’ve blogged! I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth…just busy working on other things. My weight issues have been the last thing on my mind and sometimes this is a good thing. I haven’t stepped on the scales for at least 4 weeks and I have no idea if I’ve put on weight, lost weight or stayed the same. My clothes still fit, so that’s encouraging. So…where was I…ahhh, that’s right…blogging about all things “plus sized” related.

My m.i.l. recently asked me to help her shop for an outfit for my b.i.l’s upcoming wedding. No problem. I love to shop, but the plus sized shops in the Illawarra leave a lot to be desired. I can count on one hand, the number of actual shops I can walk into and buy something dressy. Here’s the deal. In regional areas, each shop only gets a very limited number of the larger sizes per store. If you need a 24 or 26, if you’re not there on the day its put on display, chances are…you miss out! Hardly seems far. No wonder big girls always complain that they can’t get anything in their size. I successfully shopped online for my outfit for the wedding, so a weight has been lifted off my shoulders there.  My m.i.l. was experiencing the difficulties finding something suitable, so off to Sydney we went. My mum came along too as she also needed an outfit.

First stop. Myer Sydney City. What an amazingly beautiful store and so much to choose from!! The Sydney store could swallow the Wollongong store and still have room for dessert.  I couldn’t believe the number of evening dresses available for plus sized women. I have to hand it to Mr K for their Eve Hunter and Flirt lines…both of which cater up to size 24.  Designed with both younger women and more mature ladies in mind, we were spoilt for choice.

We armed ourselves with way more than the six garment maximum the fitting rooms allow and set about trying on everything. I have to hand it to my m.i.l. She didn’t say “no” to an outfit until she tried it on. Sometimes the hanger just doesn’t do a dress justice. Out of 12 outfits, one was suitable, but it wasn’t “the one”.

Next stop, David Jones. Their plus size evening wear selection was pretty small, but there was one Eve Hunter dress that was beautiful and it fitted perfectly!!  SHE HAD A DRESS! The relief!

When you’re a larger woman, the stress of finding the perfect outfit that is flattering, modern, comfortable and just makes you feel good, can be a real battle. When you actually find it, its like winning the clothing lotto…the odds of which are akin to winning the actual lotto…seemingly impossible sometimes. Come the wedding day, my m.i.l is going to look and feel beautiful. I’m so happy for her!

Next step…shoes and accessories…the fun stuff…oh, and spanx. Do they come in my size??

Cheers, Lis.

Weightloss pin-spiration

There is more to Pinterest than just home decor and cupcakes. There are so many inspirational quotes, affirmations and tips for weightloss, and I thought I’d share a few of them with you here today.

Positive affirmations and positive thinking can help you develop a positive attitude to life. Most overweight women don’t have a good attitude towards themselves, and its so important to put yourself in the right head space.

A positive attitude will help you to achieve your goals, to be successful in life, and to finally enjoy good health.

Print them out and stick them on your bathroom mirror where you’ll be reminded every single day. You are awesome. You are worth it. You can do this!

I love that you can categorise your pins on Pinterest. I keep all of the inspirational images and quotes I find on my “inspirational stuff” board, so that I can refer to them later, and add more when I come across them. Do you use Pinterest? If you need an invite, let me know.

7 health apps for the mind, body and spirit

There is more to self-improvement than what you put in your mouth and how much you move. I have discovered that by dealing with weightloss in a more holistic way, I am not only able to improve my body, but my mind and spirit as well. There are so many apps on the market at the moment that can assist with getting your mind, body and spirit all working together.  Here’s a few have helped me, and I can thoroughly recommend…time to embrace technology.

Traffic Light Food Tracker
Cost: free
This app is new to the market, and makes choosing healthy foods so very simple. The app gives a traffic light rating based on the amount of total fat, saturated fat, sugars and sodium per 100g – green for low, amber for medium and red for high. The idea is to limit the number of red lights in your shopping trolley and replace with products with green lights. Many foods that on the surface appear to be “healthy”, turn out to be either full of salt or sugar. I tested it on a number of foods in my pantry and was really surprised by the results. If only packaging had the traffic lights printed on them! It would make it so easy for adults and children to make a healthy choice. Kudos to the Obesity Policy Coalition for releasing this app.

My Fitness Pal
Cost: free

My Fitness Pal is a calorie counting app, that has made recording what I eat each day so very easy. There is a huge selection of foods available in the database to choose, and you can add your own foods if you need to. This app calculates how many calories you need to consume each day based on your weight, height, level of activity and the rate you wish to lose weight. When you check in your diary at the end of the day, it gives you an estimate of what you might weigh in 5 weeks time if you continue to eat that way. You can also use this one online, and there’s a community attached. Love it. Highly recommended.

RunKeeper
Cost: free
Don’t be fooled by the title…you don’t have to run to use RunKeeper. lol. This app tracks the distance, speed and time taken to travel your exercise route. It also maps it out for you so that you can keep track of the route you take. It also calculates the number of calories you burn, so you can use this one in conjunction with My Fitness Pal.  My hubby loves this app, and takes great delight showing me where he’s been and how he’s improved his fitness.

Easy Diabetes
Cost: free
If you suffer from diabetes, or are borderline, this is the app for you.  I had a glucose tolerance test in March that indicated, whilst I’m not diabetic, my blood sugar level was too high. Since then, I have been tracking my glucose readings to make sure I am on track to reducing it. Given that a number of my family have Type 2 Diabetes, this one is an essential. You can download the data to a spreadsheet too, to show to your doctor. Great app.
Period Tracker Deluxe
Cost: $1.99

Are you in tune with your body?  I thought I was until I was two weeks late recently. Several thoughts were running through my mind…am I pregnant? Did my new medication stuff up my cycle?  Am I going through early menopause?  Given a family history of early menopause, the doctor has asked that I start tracking my period to see if there’s a pattern. Further hormone testing will happen down the track. So I’ll be using this app for this purpose. If you’re trying to conceive, it also indicates when your fertile times are and when you’re “intimate” (their words, not mine. lol). btw - I’m not pregnant…thank goodness! Simple to use and pretty looking. It’s also discreet on your iPhone wall…titled P Tracker.

Simply Being
Cost: $0.99
Time to get the mind in tune too with meditation. I love this one…so relaxing. After a stressful day at work, or the noise of children, its good to put this one on and have 5-20 minutes of peace. The female voice is very relaxing, and the pauses are just right. You can also select background music or nature sounds to accompany the speaker.  If you’re having trouble going to sleep, turn down the voice and just enjoy the sound of rain or the ocean. It definitely clears the mind of all of those thoughts that prevent you from relaxing.

Gratitude Journal Your Positive Thoughts
Cost: $0.99

Being grateful is uplifting for the spirit, and this simple to use gratitude journal helps you document the day-to-day things that you appreciate.  Write down the things you are grateful for, and include a photo if you feel inclined. Its amazing how focusing on the good things in your life can improve the way you look at the world.  As a sufferer of depression, this one has been good for me. Even on my really down days, I try to find little things to be thankful for…even if its a hug from the kids, or the sky being blue…its all good. There’s also inspirational quotes to draw upon when you need to. Try focusing on the positives and see how it makes you feel.

These apps are just a sampling of what is currently available, and no doubt I’ll be finding more in the future.  What apps have you tried to improve your mind, body and spirit?

Weighing it up…

In a moment of complete weakness, I agreed to participate in the “Spring into Summer – 90 day weightloss challenge” that my sister is running through her business, Beth Tahiri Photography.  Beth and I have had weight issues most of our teenage/adult lives, and not surprisingly we tend to lose weight and gain weight together, even when she lived overseas for 10 years! Being the highly organised person she is, Beth has brought together 20 women, all with the goal of losing weight before this Summer. She’s organised sponsors and prizes, and keeps us motivated and talking via an fb group. I’ve got to hand it to her…she knows how to run things well.  The challenge started yesterday, and so far, so good. lol.

Only one aspect of the challenge has had me running for the hills daunted me. One of the conditions of entry is to provide your front, back and side photos, as well as a photo of the scales each week, and your body measurements. I don’t care about a photo of the scales because I openly share my weight here. Being the good girl I am, I took a picture and sent it off, and just for the record…here it is.  Next week I’ll have to schedule in a pedicure first!

It was the photos of myself that really bothered me! I hate my profile at the moment, and it’s when its right there in black and white that it really hits home how big I really am.  The photos will be posted in her business facebook page and tagged. I was really frightened about having my name linked to my image. Stupid really considering how honest I’ve been here. Yesterday, I lost confidence and withdrew my permission. This morning, I changed my mind. Hubby took a new set of photos before I left for work this morning, and I emailed them through. I think this is one demon I have to face. Myself. So before Beth has a chance to post them, I’m releasing the images under my own terms here.

This is a typical outfit I wear to work. Black skirt, black top and pumps. I usually jazz it up with a few colourful accessories and a scarf, but I left them off for the photos. I do agree that its important to see how far I’ve come, and I can’t wait to compare the photos before and after…and all the inbetween.

I also found out that my tape measure wasn’t actually long enough to reach all the way around my body! How horrifying is that?!!  Yesterday, I purchased one that is 3m long so that I could take an accurate measurement. I will share those measurements with you another day.  Hopefully I’ll be able to use a regular tape measure soon instead of the one long enough to measure boa constrictors.

One photo not on the list, was a close up of your face. I usually notice weightloss in my face more than anywhere else on my body, so I asked hubby to capture that too.  Buried underneath those swollen cheeks is a pointy chin and high cheekbones. I’m looking forward to discovering them again.  One day when I hit my target weight, I’ll put all these profile photos side by side and marvel at the difference.

For the challenge itself, there are no set diets or exercise regimes. You set your own goals and work towards achieving them with the support and encouragment of the other participants. I’ve set my 6 week goal at 3kg lost, and 12 week goal at 6kg. Losing 500g a week is healthy and manageable, and if I lose more than that, then that’s a bonus! As I’ve said before, I’m not looking for quick weightloss. I want to be able to keep off the weight and this is a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Have you participated in weightloss challenges before? What goals do you set for yourself?

Wish me luck! Cheers, Lis.

Happy Blog Day…the plus size edition!

Today is Blog Day. A day to celebrate bloggers and blogging across the globe. I have already posted a selection of my favourite links on my other blog, Life as we know it, however I wanted to share a few plus size blogs that I’ve started reading too.

When it comes to fuller figured fashion, these women have it sorted! They’re not limited to just what’s in the shops. They know how to put outfits together that are individual and stylish and they can accessorise like there’s no tomorrow!

Frocks and Frou Frou
I’m totally loving Lilli’s offbeat and quirky style. Her outfits have a retro vibe with a modern flair, and I love how she photographs her frocks and the details. Most of all, I love how she shares where she finds her fashion!

Gabifresh
Fresh is right! This New York based blogger knows how to rock the fuller figured fashion. Her style is sassy and wearable…and its great knowing what girls are wearing in one of the most fashionable cities in the world!

Danimezza
Dani is one gorgeously talented woman! I first met her at Nuffnang’s Blogopolis and I was really impressed with her personal style. She an incredibly talented photographer and her dress sense is polished and enviable.

Gisela Ramirez
I came across Gisela whilst watching Can of Worms a couple of weeks ago, and I admired her instantly. She’s just launched a new fashion collection, that while not my style, is colourful and sassy…and most importantly fun! Love her t-shirt “f*ck flattering”.

The State I Am In
Elizabeth is a Scottish plus sized fashion blogger whose personal style is cute and definitely wearable. Blouses, skirts and cardies…it could be my wardrobe! Think I might have to check out a few of those UK stores.

Lastly, this blog is a social commentary on how plus sized women are portrayed in the media.

Big Fat Deal
I only came across this blog recently. The posts are really interesting and they describe themselves as “a body positivity blog that is inclusive to people losing weight and people happy to be whatever weight they happen to be”.  No topic is off-limits and it’s definitely worth a read.

Do you read plus size fashion and weight related blogs? What is it that makes you come back for more?

Happy Blog Day! Cheers, Lis.

Swimsational plus size swimwear

With the weather turning warmer in the southern hemisphere, most people start thinking about hitting the pool or beach for a relaxing swim or a bit of exercise. A well designed, well-fitting swimsuit is a must in every fuller figured woman’s wardrobe!

There are literally hundreds of designs available on the market at the moment; from one piece swimsuits, to tankinis and swim dresses. Here are a few that have caught my eye…

Polkdot swimwear by Curveysea

Pandora swimsuit by Sue Rice Swimwear

 Ava Convertible swimsuit by Kiyonna

Virginia swimsuit by Sue Rice Swimwear

Capriosca swimdress by Sequins and Sand

Betty Brie Tankini by Sue Rice Swimwear

Crimson Lily swimwear by Curvysea

Flower one piece by Alisi

Loving the sleeves on the swimsuit by Alisi above. Pop on a wrap skirt, and a wide brim hat and you’re good to go to a summery soire!

Swimwear tips:

  • Gathering across the tummy of your swimsuit will disguise any belly bulge.
  • Wide straps on your swimsuit will offer you more support. Make sure they don’t cut into your shoulders or slip off…we all want to avoid the embarrassment of your breast falling out as you dive in.
  • If buying a swimsuit with a fitted bra attached, make sure you purchase one in your bra size for a great fit.
  • Tankinis should be fitted so they don’t bubble up as you swim.
  • Choose patterned bottoms, and a plain top if you are broad-shouldered. This will draw the eye downwards and even your shape out.
  • They say to steer clear of horizontal strips and bold patterns…but I say, if you find a cosie that you’re comfortable in, buy it!
  • Invest in a sheer kaftan to pop over your swimsuit when heading down to the beach for a shieke and comfortable look.
  • Remember to rinse out your swimsuit after your visit to the pool or beach. Chlorine and salt water can destroy your swimsuit.
  • Most of all slip, slop, slap and wrap…you don’t want to get burnt!

What type of swimsuit do you prefer? Spring/summer in Australia is the perfect time to go swimming. Don’t let your size hold you back from enjoying the water.  Are you ready?

Cheers, Lis.

Just three things can improve your health…

They say that small, continuous improvement is the way to make effective change. Attempt to do it all at once, and you are liable to fall flat on your face.  No one wants to feel that they are a failure, so by adopting smaller changes, you can succeed straight away!  Today I was reading a health article in a popular women’s magazine that suggested by changing just three things in the next 24 hours, you can improve your health significantly. It doesn’t matter what those three things are, as long as you follow through. Sounds good to me…here’s what I’ve chosen to change today.

Step 1: Drink more water!
Growing up, we always had plenty of cold water in the fridge, and it was always my first beverage of choice. As I got older, and started earning money, soft drink started to take over. Up until February this year, I was drinking Diet Coke like there was going to be world shortage! Not only was it bad for me, but it was costing a fortune. I gave up cold turkey and haven’t had one since.

I was really missing the bubbles and sweetness, so recently I started having Pepsi Max instead. I think I was only fooling myself when my hubby suggested perhaps I was starting to get addicted to that too and I denied it. He was right (damn it).  My first change today is to drink more water and cut soft drink out of my diet as an “every day” beverage. I will still have a glass if I go out for dinner or other social event (which isn’t all that often).

Step 2: Use the stairs!
Walking up and down stairs is a bit of a struggle sometimes, especially when you are carrying too much weight and your knees hurt. In the building where I work, I have the option of using a lift or a couple of flights of stairs to travel the one floor to get to my office. Being lazy and unfit, I always use the elevator. LAZY I tell you!

Well, today I am going to start using the stairs. That one little bit of incidental exercise will help me. I might be a little breathless for the first few days, but my fitness will improve.

Step 3: Ditch the added fat!
There’s nothing I like better than fresh bread or toast with loads of butter on top. It’s a delicious weakness that is definitely not good for me. I’m so bad, I will butter my toast, wait for it to go cold, then butter again (disgusting really!). You do need a little fat in your diet for the health of your skin and hair, but no way near as much as I’m having.

Starting from my next meal, I am ditching the butter. No more butter on potatoes, corn, bread, toast or anything else that I add it to unnecessarily. The foods taste good without it, and my waistline and arteries will thank me.

——————————————————

I have been making small changes along my weightloss journey for a few weeks now, and its starting to pay off on the scales. This week I have lost 1kg, bringing my total to 7kg…a whole stone! Yay me! By making these further three changes, it will bring me closer to my goal.

What three changes can you make in the next 24 hours to improve your health?

Cheers, Lis.

Forwards, not backwards, and always twirling, twirling, twirling…

Embarking on a weightloss journey is not just about food and exercise, it’s about dealing with the reasons why you are overweight in the first place. If you don’t resolve the issues, it doesn’t matter what you try, you’re susceptible to putting it all back on…and more.

“The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you can see.” - Winston Churchill

I could go on ad nauseam about the reasons for my massive weight gain, but they are not important here. The reality is, my drug of choice is food. I am an emotional eater. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. The last 20 years have been a massive rollercoaster of diets, and each time I have lost weight, then put on more. I have tried them all…Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Sureslim, Lite n Easy, Cohen’s Lifestyle Clinic…even Gloria Marshall, which was the most hilarious experience of my life. For the uninitiated, you follow the Gloria Marshall diet and “exercise” on their machines. Step one was to lie on a massage bed that wobbled three different ways to loosen the fat. You then moved onto other machines that either pounded or wobbled target areas of your body. You just had to stand there and wait for the timer to finish. There were women “exercising” in corporate outfits, heels and stockings. Yeah, that was a complete waste of money.

The most “successful” diet I’ve tried was Cohen’s Lifestyle Clinic. Between August 2006 and March 2007, I lost a massive 40kg!  The layout below was created to celebrate making it more than halfway to my goal weight. I still can’t believe how big I looked in the photo on the left…and I was 10kg lighter than I am now!

So what happened? As a result of rapid weightloss, my gall bladder failed, and in March 2007 I had it removed. The specialist told me they stopped counting the stones at 20…there were just so many! Most people lose weight after having their gall bladder removed…I did the complete opposite and stacked on 50kg very quickly.  I remember saying to myself, “I will never weigh more than 100kg ever again”, but I skipped way past that. This, and a combination of other things has led to severe depression.  After being so successful losing weight, I now felt like a complete failure…another good reason to have an extra dessert.

The next photo was taken in July 2011 at Nuffnang’s Blogopolis. I was so nervous attending this event because I really knew nobody. I tried extra hard to style myself well so that I’d fit in and would feel good about myself. I had no idea that Danimezza would be photographing us! I’m incredibly paranoid about having any photo taken from a front on angle. I always try to hide myself behind someone or have the photo taken from up high to reduce the number of chins I have.

23

I must say, I was pretty surprised with the end result.  I don’t hate it. That’s me and it perfectly captures who I am right now.  I think this is quite possibly the first photo I’ve ever seen of myself where I look like my mother!!24

Jacket by City Chic; Shirt and Skirt by Autograph; Scarf by Sussan

So this where I am. I own the 136.5kg that fills my frame, and I’m moving forward towards a new me. I am completely skeptical about fad diets and I will never try one ever again. As I said in my previous post, its about sensible eating, moderate exercise and looking after myself. I’m still working on being in the right head space, but I am happy with the direction I’m heading. This time, the changes I make are for life.

Be honest with yourself. Have you faced your past, so that you can embrace the future?

Cheers, Lis.

But I’ve got nothing to wear…

One of the biggest problems facing the plus sized woman, is finding clothes that make her feel GOOD! Until recently, there haven’t been a lot of options available, and designers are now becoming a bit more savvy when it comes to dressing the extra extra lovely girl.  Bricks and mortar retail stores are still a little slow catching up with the needs of their fuller figured customers, however there’s quite a number of online stores right here in Australia that have loads of options.

A question was posted on Melissa’s blog today asking for fashion advice for an upcoming event.  Dressing for every day is stressful enough, without the added pressure of looking and feeling fabulous at a wedding or similarly important event.  I too have a wedding coming up, and unless I lose about 50kg between now and November (highly unlikely), I will be searching for that special frock too.  Time to shop.

Here’s a few gorgeous frocks that have caught my eye. These styles would suit a number of body types; accentuating curves where needed and showing off an ample bustline. No need to hide away girls!

Every woman wants a little black dress, and these styles are not only flattering, but comfortable.  Worried about your upper arms? Team your dress with a sheer bolero or wrap.

Killer Curves

With Spring fast approaching, you might want to inject a little more colour into your fashion with these gorgeous dresses.

Style and Substance

Styling tips…
Consider your look from head to toe and style your outfit with accessories and fancy footwear.

  • Try brightly coloured shoes and jewels, in this season’s fashion colours…jewel tones of sapphire blue, emerald green, turquoise, ruby red, topaz and amethyst are hot hot hot!
  • Rhinestone chandelier style earrings are always a classic accompaniment for your sassy black frock.
  • Wear a statement necklace and a cocktail ring with an understated stud earring. Big earrings and a big necklace will look too busy.
  • Leave that boring black handbag at home, and splash out on a clutch purse.
  • Really reasonably priced accessories and bags can be found at Diva, Colette or Equip.
  • To elongate your legs, avoid heels with an ankle strap, especially if you have a thicker ankle/calf.
  • Pointy shoes also make your feet look longer and slimmer.
  • If you don’t feel confident walking in stilettos, try a wedge heel for extra balance.
  • Finally, treat yourself to a sassy up do and glamorous evening makeup to complete your look.

Follow these tips and you’ll be standing out at your next event for all the right reasons!  Feel confident and beautiful…you deserve it!

Happy shopping, Lis.
